Our inspiration.

For over 30 years, Ron McGlynn has bettered the education of people with an intellectual disability. In recognition of his contribution, Ron was awarded the Pride of Australia Inspiration Medal.

'One of the first lessons I learned from genU is that it is never too late to start something new. The trainers and staff at genU went out of their way to ensure I understood what I was being taught. Lessons were practical, hands on and industry relevant and they also assisted with my work placements.' - Deb, Disability and Mental Health Support Carer and former genU Training student

As a genU Training Course Coordinator, Ron was integral to the development of two courses: Initial Adult Literacy and Numeracy, & Certificate I in Initial Adult Literacy and Numeracy. Both these courses are just for students with a disability, focusing on the development of foundation skills.

With Skills First funding, these courses are made available free of charge to all students.

genU Training is the leader in delivering accredited foundation courses to students with a disability. We’re couldn’t be prouder of the hundreds and hundreds of students who have graduated from these programs.
